Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed his gratitude to the people of Raebareli and Amethi for voting in favor of the INDIA bloc, characterizing it as a vote against “violence, lies, and arrogance.” In the recent Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi secured a victory from Raebareli and retained his seat in Kerala’s Wayanad, while Congress’ Kishori Lal Sharma won from Amethi.
During an ‘Aabhar Sabha’ address, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the significance of the election results, emphasizing that the people voted against those who intended to alter the Constitution. “People have forced them to touch the Constitution to their foreheads now,” he remarked.
Rahul Gandhi acknowledged the unprecedented unity among different parties across the country, which fought together as a cohesive force, and credited Uttar Pradesh for leading the way. “You have changed the political narrative of the country. But the work is not over yet. In fact, it has only begun,” he stated.
He pointed out that the BJP’s loss in Ayodhya was due to the exclusion of the poor and weaker sections from the consecration ceremony. “Ayodhya gave a befitting reply in the elections,” he added.
Gandhi also mentioned that had his sister, Priyanka Gandhi, contested the Varanasi seat, the election results there might have been different. He assured the audience that he would ensure Amethi receives the same level of development as Raebareli, despite his election from the latter.
Priyanka Gandhi, speaking at the event, thanked the leaders and workers of both the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, emphasizing that the election results conveyed a desire for clean politics. “You have worked hard for us and now we will work with double the strength for you,” she said. She expressed her gratitude to the SP workers present on the Congress stage.
The event underscored the collaborative efforts of various parties and the commitment to continue working towards the development and political integrity of the country.
