Tragic Fire Accident in Kuwait Claims 41 Lives

In a devastating incident, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a residential building in Mangaf, Kuwait, leading to the tragic loss of 41 lives. The fire, which started late in the evening, quickly spread throughout the building, causing chaos and panic among the residents.

According to reports, some of the victims were caught in the fire and perished due to the intense heat and smoke. Others, in a desperate attempt to escape, jumped from the building, resulting in fatal injuries. The incident has left the local community in shock and mourning.

Among the deceased, seven were Indian nationals, highlighting the diverse population affected by this tragedy. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, but the rapid spread of the fire made rescue operations extremely challenging.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have started due to a cooking accident, but further details are awaited. Safety inspections and reviews of building regulations are expected to follow as officials seek to prevent such incidents in the future.

The Indian embassy in Kuwait has been informed, and steps are being taken to assist the families of the deceased. Local support services have also been mobilized to provide aid to those affected by the fire.

41 Including 5 Keralites Killed

The blaze claimed the lives of 41 people and injured at least 40 others. Among the deceased are 10 Indians, including five Malayalis.

The fire is reported to have originated from a kitchen on one of the lower floors within the labor camp at around 4:30 AM. The flames rapidly engulfed the entire building. Some individuals, in a desperate attempt to escape, leapt from the building and were killed, while others succumbed to burn injuries and asphyxiation due to smoke inhalation.

Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister, Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, visited the site and has ordered a police inquiry into the incident. He has also mandated stringent action against the building’s owner.

Several of the injured have been admitted to Adan, Jaber, and Mubarak hospitals for treatment.
