Hyderabad, June 12, 2024 – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, into alleged fraud in the implementation of the Sheep Rearing Development Scheme (SRDC) in Telangana. The Hyderabad Zonal Office of the Directorate has requested detailed information from the Telangana State Sheep and Goat Development Cooperative Federation Ltd. (TSSGDCFL), the scheme’s implementing agency.

The Directorate has asked TSSGDCFL to provide district-wise details of all beneficiaries and sellers involved in the scheme since its inception. This includes names, contact information, addresses, and bank account details. Additionally, the ED has requested details of the bank accounts used for disbursing funds to district authorities and beneficiaries, as well as information on the beneficiaries’ contributions to the scheme.

Further, the investigation seeks information on the transport agencies responsible for delivering sheep to beneficiaries, including payment details and vehicle information. Details on the procurement and supply of sheep feeds, including vendor information and payment details, have also been requested.

The ED has also asked for any internal reports that may have been prepared regarding fraud in the scheme’s implementation. This request has been made under Section 54 of the PMLA, 2002, and has been classified as most urgent.

This investigation is being conducted with the approval of the Joint Director of the Hyderabad Zonal Office, with Deputy Director Magimai Arockiaraj overseeing the process.
