Hyderabad: The Chautuppal Police in Rachakonda Commissionerate have arrested a gang of four people involved in illegally transporting ganja in a modified vehicle that resembled the movie “Pushpa”. The gang had been transporting the contraband from Annavaram in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad and Maharashtra via Rajahmundry, Khammam, Thorruru, Tirumalgiri, Addaguduru, Motkur, Valigonda, Chautuppal.

The police seized 400 kg of ganja and modified the vehicle’s interior to create an empty space for storing cannabis packets. The packets were then covered with iron sheets and secured with bolts before transporting them in the vehicle’s lower part.

The gang had successfully transported the contraband six times before the police received information and raided the Valigonda square in Chautuppal early on Saturday morning. The police had received information that a Hyundai Creta car was being used as a pilot before the DCM, and they stopped both vehicles during the raid.

The police found the ganja hidden under the iron sheets after noticing a difference in sound when they kicked the vehicle’s interior. The gang members, including two who were in the DCM and two who were in the pilot car, were arrested and presented to the media by the CP DS Chouhan during a press conference at LB Nagar on Saturday.
