Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dasari Gopikrishna, a young man from Bapatla district, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident in the United States.
Taking to ‘X’, CM Naidu conveyed his condolences to the family of the 32-year-old, who was one of four victims killed in a shooting at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, on June 21.
“I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family and assure them that the Government of Andhra Pradesh will extend every possible support to help bring him home. We firmly stand by the family and pray for them to find strength through this difficult time,” posted CM Naidu.
Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed his shock over Gopikrishna’s death. He appealed to the state government to support Gopikrishna’s family in every possible way and requested the Ministry of External Affairs to provide assistance.
Gopikrishna, who hailed from Yajali in Karlapalem mandal of Bapatla district, had moved to the US only eight months ago. CCTV footage of the incident shows the gunman entering the store and opening fire on Gopikrishna, who was working at the counter.
This tragic incident has deeply affected the local community, and both leaders have emphasized the importance of supporting the bereaved family during this difficult time.
