Hyderabad: Due to the ongoing construction of a third railway line between the Kazipet and Balharshah sections, significant disruptions have been announced by the South Central Railway (SCR). A total of 78 trains have been cancelled, and 36 trains have been rerouted. These changes will be in effect until July 7, as part of preparatory and commissioning works for the new line between Asifabad and Rechni stations in the Secunderabad division.

The SCR has urged travelers to check their train status regularly through official railway communication channels such as the Indian Railways website, mobile applications, or local railway stations.
Reason for the Disruptions
The third-line construction is part of a larger initiative to modernize the Indian Railways’ infrastructure. The addition of a third track is expected to significantly ease the congestion on the existing lines, enabling more trains to run with greater punctuality and reliability. This is particularly important for the Secunderabad division, which is a crucial junction for trains running between the southern and northern parts of India.
Future Outlook
While the current disruptions may cause inconvenience, the long-term benefits of the third-line construction are substantial. Enhanced rail capacity will support increased freight and passenger traffic, boosting economic activities and providing a more dependable mode of transportation.
The SCR is committed to minimizing the impact on passengers during this construction phase and is working diligently to complete the project as scheduled. Passengers are requested to cooperate and adjust their travel plans accordingly during this period.
