TGSPDCL’s Preparedness for Bonalu Festival
CMD Musharraf Faruqui, IAS, Reviews Arrangements
Hyderabad June 28
In preparation for the Bonalu Festival, set to take place from July 7 to August 3, 2024, the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd. (TGSPDCL) is making extensive arrangements to ensure a reliable power supply, according to Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Faruqui, IAS.
During a review meeting at the Corporate Office, Faruqui outlined several key directives to ensure seamless electricity during the festival. All necessary arrangements must be finalized by July 2, 2024. Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers are instructed to inspect temples and their premises to guarantee 24×7 power supply throughout the festival.

Each temple will have a designated nodal officer or Assistant Engineer responsible for coordinating power supply. Coordination with the Roads and Buildings Department and temple committees is crucial to ensure that the distribution transformers and network can handle the increased load from temporary lights, air conditioning, and sound systems.
Officers and staff will be on duty around the clock to maintain uninterrupted power supply and ensure public safety. Alternative power supplies should be arranged as needed, with field staff equipped with the necessary materials and tools to address any issues.
All poles, especially those on main roads and in areas with large gatherings, must be checked to prevent electrical leaks. Hourly tong tester readings of distribution transformers at key locations will be recorded, with any abnormalities addressed immediately.
The review meeting was attended by In-charge Directors Nanda Kumar and Narsimhulu, Chief Engineers K. Saibaba, L. Pandya, V. Sivaji, P. Bikshapati, and P. Anand, CGM Krishna Reddy, and Superintending Engineers.
