Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University Celebrates Fifteenth Anniversary
Mojerla, Telangana, June 11,2024
Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar, Vice-Chancellor of Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University, emphasized the importance of horticultural students contributing to the development of the horticultural society. She made these remarks while attending the fifteenth anniversary celebration at the College of Horticulture, Mojerla, where she served as the chief guest and inaugurated the college day celebrations.
In her address, Dr. Prabhakar highlighted that the ups and downs in life are common, and success can only be achieved by tackling them efficiently. She stressed that a good personality and the habit of hard work are crucial for success. She urged students to move forward with qualities of humanity and goodness and to work effectively in teams.

Dr. Prabhakar outlined the ambitious goal for India’s horticultural production, noting that by 2047, during the Amrit Kaal, the country will need to achieve 777 million tons of production, compared to the current 350 million tons. Increasing productivity is the biggest challenge for horticulturists, she added. She also pointed out that investing one rupee in horticultural crop cultivation yields a profit of three rupees, making it an attractive option for farmers and educated youth.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the bright future of horticultural startups, given the high value of products with low production volumes. She encouraged horticulture students to focus on this area, assuring them that the university is ready to support such startups with financial and technical assistance.
Dr. Prabhakar concluded her speech by reminding students that knowledge is vast, and there will always be more to learn. She emphasized that life is meaningful when one gives back to society and warned that students would become outdated if they do not continuously update their knowledge.
