The biggest international sporting event, the Olympics, is set to begin in a few days. Paris, the capital of France, will host this sports extravaganza from July 26 to August 11.

India is sending a large contingent to the Paris Olympics, with 117 athletes set to compete in various events. The central government recently approved the list of Indian athletes who will participate in the Olympics.

However, the name of female shot putter Aba Kathua, who qualified for the Olympics based on world rankings, has been omitted from the list approved by the Center. This omission has sparked discussion and debate.

In addition to the athletes, a team of 140 support staff and officials will accompany the Indian contingent to Paris. All eyes will be on India’s star javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra, who made history by winning gold in the javelin throw at the 2021 Olympics.

Indian athletes have been performing exceptionally well in world track and field events recently, raising hopes for medals in various sports at the Paris Olympics. India is primarily eyeing medals in wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, badminton, hockey, and archery.

The Indian contingent is determined to make a mark on the global stage and bring glory to the nation in the upcoming Olympics.
