Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Commends Kamma Community at Kamma Global Federation Conference
Hyderabad, July 20: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lauded the Kamma community, emphasizing that “Kamma means a way of life that is cherished like a mother.” Reddy, alongside Telangana Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Komati Reddy Venkata Reddy, and Government Adviser Vem Narender Reddy, participated in the opening day of the two-day Kamma Global Federation (KGF) conference at the Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC).
KGF Founder President Jetty Kusumakumar was praised for uniting Kamma family members globally. Although the program was initially scheduled to be established before 2023, it was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Under Kusumakumar’s leadership, the arrangements were made within 90 days, leading to a grand event.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted the significance of the Kamma community, comparing their nurturing and supportive nature to that of a mother. He stated that just as mothers care for their children, the Kamma community farms and supports their peers, spreading wherever there is fertile soil and water. Reddy emphasized the importance of hard work, particularly in agriculture, and the community’s dedication to benefiting others.
The CM also credited the lessons he learned in the NTR Bhavan library and acknowledged the influence of leaders like NTR and Chandrababu in providing significant opportunities to many. He noted that Telugu leadership, bolstered by figures like NG Ranga, PV Narasimha Rao, Venkaiah Naidu, and Jaipal Reddy, should be encouraged today.
Reddy underscored the hard work of the Kamma community across various fields, including agriculture and IT, particularly in Silicon Valley. He called for active participation in making Hyderabad a cosmopolitan city, assuring the government’s support in promoting their talent and investments.

Revanth Reddy reiterated the policy of respecting all castes and ensuring that efforts of the Kamma community are recognized in Telangana. He stressed the right to protest where taxes are levied and the government’s responsibility to provide such opportunities.
The CM expressed his support for Venkaiah Naidu becoming President and highlighted the lack of leadership in Delhi. He assured full cooperation from the government and resolved to address issues related to the 5 acres of land allotted to Kamma Sangam.
The first day of the KGF meeting saw a warm welcome from Jetty Kusuma Kumar to two thousand Kamma attendees from across the globe. Reddy, reflecting on his close relationship with the community, emphasized the need for unity and mutual support among Kammas worldwide. The event also included discussions on medicine and investment opportunities.
