Bharath Jagruthi calls for peaceful hunger strike demanding Women’s Reservation Bill as Kavitha Kalvakuntla faces Enforcement Directorate summons”

In a show of solidarity for the long-pending Women’s Reservation Bill, Bharath Jagruthi, along with opposition parties and women’s organisations from all over India, will hold a peaceful hunger strike on March 10th at Jantar Mantar. The strike demands that the BJP government introduce and pass the bill, which aims to give women their due share of political participation. However, Kavitha Kalvakuntla, a prominent leader of Bharath Jagruthi and the daughter of Telangana CMKCR

, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate to appear in New Delhi on March 9th for questioning. Despite being a law-abiding citizen, Kavitha Kalvakuntla will seek legal opinions on the date of attendance due to prior commitments. She has also reminded the ruling party that these tactics of intimidation will not deter their fight for a better future for India, under the leadership of CM KCR. Telangana has never and will never bow before the oppressive regime and will continue to fight for the rights of the people.
