Revanth Reddy Announces Anand Mahindra as Chairman of Young India Skills University

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced the appointment of renowned industrialist Anand Mahindra as the Chairman of the newly established Young India Skills University. Speaking at a meeting of NRIs in New York, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s initiative to develop skills among the youth through this new university, which will operate on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Anand Mahindra’s Appointment

CM Revanth Reddy stated that Anand Mahindra is expected to assume his role as Chairman within two days. The announcement was made during the Chief Minister’s visit to the United States, where he is also seeking to mobilize investments. On August 1st, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Skills University in Muchharla.

Investment and Development

During his address in New York, CM Reddy emphasized the progress made in Hyderabad, attracting world-class IT companies. He noted that significant infrastructure projects such as the Outer Ring Road, the international airport, and the Hi-Tech City have been developed under various administrations, including TDP and Congress. He further mentioned the ongoing construction of a 250 km regional ring road, which aims to enhance connectivity and development in the rural regions of Telangana under a comprehensive mega master plan.

Anand Mahindra’s Role and Vision

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group and recipient of the Padma Bhushan, has been appointed to lead Telangana Skill University. During a recent program in New Jersey, CM Reddy revealed that Mahindra had accepted the invitation to chair the university. This appointment aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision to train Telangana’s youth to become world-class skilled workers.

Anand Mahindra and CM Revanth Reddy held discussions about the Telangana Skill University during a recent meeting in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister had previously announced in the assembly that an internationally renowned individual would be appointed to head the university, which aims to provide top-notch skill development training to the youth of Telangana.
