Mumbai, Aug 8: Actress Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya have put an end to the rumors as the couple is now officially engaged. However, the announcement has sparked a wave of reactions from fans of actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who have taken to social media to troll the newly engaged couple.

On Thursday, Naga Chaitanya’s father, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, confirmed the news by sharing pictures from the engagement ceremony on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The photos show Nagarjuna embracing his son and Sobhita, all dressed in traditional attire.

He wrote on X: “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, but the couple announced their separation in October 2021 through statements on their respective social media accounts.

Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya reportedly met a few months after his divorce from Samantha. Around May 2022, the couple was first spotted together in Hyderabad, where Sobhita was promoting her film, Major. Their friendship quickly blossomed into a relationship, leading to their engagement.

Naga Chaitanya made his Hindi film debut in the same year with the Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, where he played the role of Balaraju ‘Bala’ Bodi, a colleague and close friend of the titular character in the Indian Army.

Sobhita was recently seen in the film Monkey Man and the streaming series Made In Heaven.
