The makers of director Jithu Madhavan’s highly anticipated film ‘Scene’, starring Suriya in the lead role, have unveiled the film’s official trailer, generating excitement among fans and movie lovers. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, coinciding with the Deepavali festive season.
Sharing the trailer on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Suriya invited audiences to experience the film with friends and family. “Murder. Mystery. Madness… and a whole lot of laughter! Enjoy #Scene in theatres with friends and family! With Love from us to you. In cinemas from 6th Nov 2026! #DiwaliRelease,” the actor posted.
Suriya in a Quirky Police Officer Role
The trailer introduces Suriya as Inbaraj, a police officer who unexpectedly decides to resign from the force. His decision surprises his seniors, colleagues and subordinates. However, Inbaraj appears determined to enjoy his freedom, ignoring repeated instructions from his superior officer Stephen, played by Lal, to report to duty.
In a hilarious sequence, Stephen sends police personnel to Inbaraj’s residence to bring him to the office. When an officer threatens to physically carry him if he refuses to cooperate, Inbaraj amusingly raises his arms and legs, inviting the policemen to carry him.
The comedy continues in Stephen’s office when Inbaraj reveals that he intends to enter politics after quitting the police force.
Nazriya and Naslen Add Intrigue
The trailer also introduces Nazriya Nazim as Maya, who arrives in response to an advertisement placed by Inbaraj seeking a house help. Interestingly, Maya is also seen performing action stunts, hinting at an important role in the film’s action sequences.
Actor Naslen plays Eeswaran, the film’s antagonist, portrayed as a ruthless and intelligent criminal. The makers had earlier introduced his character through a special video, describing him as a faceless, emotionless and inhuman predator.
The trailer suggests that bringing Eeswaran to justice requires someone with intelligence equal to his own. However, Inbaraj’s unconventional attitude adds an interesting twist to their rivalry.
Blending crime, suspense, action and comedy, the trailer promises an entertaining cinematic experience.
Strong Technical Team Behind the Film
Produced by Zhagaram Studios, the film was earlier referred to as Suriya 47 before its official title, ‘Scene’, was revealed. The project went on floors with a traditional pooja ceremony in Chennai in December last year.
Apart from Suriya, Nazriya Nazim and Naslen, the film features Lal, John Vijay and Anandaraj in pivotal roles.
The technical team includes Vineeth Augustian as cinematographer, Sushin Shyam as music composer, Ashwini Kale as production designer and Ajmal Sabu as editor. Chethan D Souza has handled the stunt choreography.
