Revanth Reddy: Telangana Competes with the World, Not Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, August 14, 2024

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that Telangana’s competition is not with neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh but with the world, declaring that Hyderabad is the key to global competitiveness. Speaking at the inauguration of Cognizant’s new campus in Kokapet, Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy highlighted the state’s ambitious plans and the pivotal role Hyderabad plays in attracting international investments.

Hyderabad: A Hub of Global Investments

Revanth Reddy announced that Telangana has secured Rs. 31,500 crore in investments through his recent foreign visit to the United States and South Korea. During the event, he outlined plans to establish a manufacturing hub along Hyderabad’s second ring road and further develop the semi-urban areas through the regional ring road.

He also noted that Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad, which were built by various leaders from Qutb Shah to Chandrababu Naidu, have become crucial centers for investment. He praised the vision of past leaders who did not compromise on the development of Hyderabad, regardless of ideological or political differences.

Building a Fourth City

The Chief Minister revealed plans to build a fourth city near the international airport, which will serve as a hub for international investments, particularly from countries like the United States and South Korea. He stressed the need for transparency in governance to foster this development and address unemployment issues.

Competition with the World

Revanth Reddy stated that while changes in Andhra Pradesh’s government may influence investments, Telangana’s true competition is on a global scale. He expressed confidence in Hyderabad’s unique position, with its robust infrastructure and favorable conditions, which sets it apart from neighboring states. Highlighting the presence of major companies like Cognizant, he reiterated that Telangana is focused on competing with the world, not just neighboring states.
