Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has recommended Sarita Tirupatiah, a prominent figure from the Kuruma (BC-B) community and the former Chairperson of Jogulamba Gadwala Zilla Parishad, for the position of State President of Mahila Congress. The recommendation was made in a letter addressed to National President Alka Lamba.
Sarita Tirupatiah has been a dedicated member of the Congress party, and she recently contested in the Gadwala assembly elections representing the party. Her recommendation for the role of Mahila Congress President is seen as a move to bolster her political career within the party and to recognize her contributions and leadership skills.
This development comes in the wake of Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, who previously won from the BRS party in Gadwala, joining the Congress. Reddy’s switch to Congress has reportedly caused some discontent among existing party members. The decision to recommend Sarita for a leadership position is perceived as an attempt to address the concerns of party members and to maintain unity within the ranks.
By endorsing Sarita Tirupatiah, CM Revanth Reddy aims to strengthen the Congress party’s base, particularly among the Kuruma community, and to enhance the party’s representation and influence in the region. This move reflects the party’s ongoing efforts to promote diversity and inclusivity in its leadership, ensuring that various communities within the state are well-represented.
