Pakistan successfully conducted a training launch of its surface-to-surface ballistic missile, Shaheen-II, on Tuesday, according to the country’s military. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, released a statement confirming the successful launch, highlighting its significance for training troops, validating technical parameters, and evaluating the performance of various sub-systems to improve accuracy and survivability.

The training launch was attended by senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations. The officials who witnessed the launch expressed their appreciation for the technical expertise, dedication, and commitment of the scientists who contributed to this achievement, according to the ISPR.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the chiefs of the services also extended their congratulations to the scientists and engineers on the successful launch.

The Shaheen-II missile is a vital component of Pakistan’s strategic arsenal, and this successful training launch underscores the country’s ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance its defense capabilities.
