KTR Slams Modi Government over ED Summons to Kavitha in Delhi Excise Policy Case
Hyderabad, March8
On Thursday, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticized the BJP-led government for misusing central agencies to harass opposition leaders. KTR’s sister, BRS MLC K. Kavitha, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi excise policy case, which KTR referred to as “Modi summons”.
KTR said that Kavitha would cooperate with the ED, unlike BJP leader B. L. Santosh, who allegedly avoided questioning by the SIT of Telangana in the case of alleged attempt to poach BRS MLAs. He also accused the Prime Minister of indulging in crony capitalism and alleged that the ED and CBI raids on opposition parties were aimed at eradicating democracy in the country.
KTR, who is also a cabinet minister, claimed that central agencies have become puppets in the hands of the Modi government. He alleged that 11 BRS leaders have been implicated in false cases while no BJP leaders are being summoned by the central agencies.
KTR also accused industrialist Gautam Adani of having a link with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned why both the Prime Minister and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman remained silent when the LIC and SBI lost Rs.13 lakh crore. He asked if Modi would take a lie detector test regarding allegations against him on Adani. KTR referred to BJP’s double engine as one engine being Modi and the other engine being Adani, with Modi being the political engine and Adani being the economic engine.
