
Minister Tummala Explores Oil Palm Seed Garden Collaboration in Malaysia

Hyderabad: Minister for Roads and Buildings, Tummala Nageswara Rao, announced plans to explore the establishment of a seed garden in Telangana for oil palm cultivation. During his visit to Malaysia, accompanied by officials from the Agriculture and Horticulture departments, the minister toured FGV Company’s seed garden and nurseries on Thursday. He also visited their state-of-the-art seed center, where advanced technical methods are employed in oil palm seed production.

In discussions with FGV representatives, Minister Tummala highlighted Telangana’s previous collaboration with NTV Company for seed imports and expressed the state’s interest in setting up its own seed garden. He requested FGV’s assistance in this endeavor, noting the company’s willingness to collaborate with Telangana.

The minister and his delegation also inspected FGV’s refinery factory, reviewing a range of products manufactured there. Additionally, the team visited the Oil Palm Seed Garden Research and Development Center in Jerantut, Pahang State, to further assess innovative cultivation methods.

During the visit, Minister Tummala also met with Kalyan Chakravorty, CEO of Navbharat Chemicals, to discuss emerging trends in Malaysian business and trade, particularly in the agricultural sector. Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao and Horticulture Director Yasmin Basha were also part of the delegation.
