
“New Telangana Sepaktakraw Leadership: Suresh Kumar Vows National & International Success”
Hyderabad, November 3, 2024: The Telangana Sepaktakraw Association successfully held its elections for the 2024-2028 term on Sunday at the Fatehmaidan Club, L.B. Stadium, Hyderabad. The election was organized by the Telangana Sepaktakraw ADHOC Committee under the leadership of Chairman B. Jaganath Swamy, who welcomed key officials and observers to ensure a smooth electoral process.
The election, presided over by Returning Officer D.L. Narsimha Rao, saw participation from sports dignitaries, including Omkar Yadav from the Sports Authority of Telangana, Parag Wadhvikar from the Telangana Olympic Association, and G. Srinivasulu from the Sepaktakraw Federation of India. The process concluded with all candidates elected unopposed, reflecting unity and consensus within the association.

K. Suresh Kumar, who was unanimously elected as the President, expressed his commitment to advancing the sport of Sepaktakraw in Telangana. In his speech, he said, “I am deeply honored to take on this responsibility, and I assure you that my focus will be on taking Telangana’s Sepaktakraw players to the national and international stage. We have immense potential in this state, and with the right support, we can achieve great things.” He also emphasized the need for better training facilities, increased participation, and stronger representation in national and international competitions.

Suresh Kumar will lead a team of highly experienced office bearers, including B. Jaganath Swamy, D. Sridhar, G. Sanjeev Reddy, and Kancharla Anitha as Vice Presidents, with R. Srinivas Reddy serving as the General Secretary. Supporting them will be K. Jitendernath, Md. Zareefuddin, G. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, and P. Sirisha as Joint Secretaries, while Koride Sreekanth was elected as the Organising Secretary.
Meenam Vikesh Kumar will serve as the Treasurer, managing the financial affairs of the association, while a team of eight Executive Members—Kothuru Kapil Anand, B. Venkataram Reddy, K. Archana, B. Bhaskar Goud, K. Bhaskar, R. Venkata Ramakrishna Reddy, Ch. Baga Reddy, and T. Yogeshwari—will work alongside them to steer the association’s future projects and initiatives.
With this new leadership in place, the Telangana Sepaktakraw Association aims to foster talent at the grassroots level, improve infrastructure, and develop programs to enhance the skills of players. The newly elected team is dedicated to building a strong pathway for players, ensuring that Telangana emerges as a key player in Sepaktakraw at both the national and international levels.
