Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Challenges KCR to Connect with People, Highlights Congress’ Achievements

Warangal, Telangana: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Leader of Opposition K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) during a public meeting in Warangal on Tuesday. The event was part of the ‘Praja Vijayotsavalu,’ marking the completion of one year of Congress governance in Telangana.

Revanth Reddy dared KCR to leave his farmhouse and engage with the people, countering the former chief minister’s claim that Telangana has suffered under Congress rule. He accused KCR of neglecting his duties as the Leader of Opposition, asking, “If people are really facing problems as you claim, why are you not coming out to question the government?”

Drawing comparisons, Revanth Reddy praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for staying among the people despite electoral setbacks. He further criticized KCR’s focus on family interests, stating, “Except for four persons in your family losing jobs, the people of Telangana have lost nothing.”

The Chief Minister emphasized his government’s achievements, such as:

  • Empowering Women: Free RTC bus travel, cooking gas cylinders at ₹500, and initiatives like solar power plant ownership.
  • Support for Farmers: Loan waivers worth ₹18,000 crore benefiting 22 lakh families, with promises to resolve technical issues for larger waivers. Telangana leads the nation with 1.53 crore tonnes of paddy production.
  • Job Creation: Filling 50,000 vacancies in 10 months under the ‘Indiramma government.’
  • Free Electricity: Provision of up to 200 free electricity units per month for eligible families.

Revanth Reddy also announced ambitious plans to develop Warangal into a hub on par with Hyderabad. “About ₹6,000 crore has been sanctioned for Warangal’s development. If Warangal develops, half of Telangana will develop,” he said.

In his fiery speech, Revanth Reddy also targeted Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, rejecting claims that he is a “slave of Sonia Gandhi.” He lauded Sonia Gandhi for realizing Telangana’s six-decade aspiration, calling her “the mother of four crore people of Telangana.” He added, “By washing the feet of Sonia Gandhi, you can atone for your slavery to Narendra Modi.”

Revanth Reddy’s remarks highlighted his vision for Telangana’s future, aiming to bolster Congress’s standing in the state.
