Hyderabad: In a major reform, the Telangana government has introduced significant changes to the grading system for 10th Class students. The existing system, which includes 20 marks for internal assessments and 80 marks for final exams, will now be replaced with a new structure where final exams will carry the entire 100 marks.

Effective from the current academic year, the revised system eliminates the internal assessment component altogether. The education department has issued detailed guidelines to ensure smooth implementation, including the provision of 24-page answer booklets for students during the final exams.

The move aims to streamline the evaluation process and focus on uniformity in assessing students’ academic performance. Education officials believe this change will bring greater transparency and clarity to the grading system.

Students, parents, and educators are advised to familiarize themselves with the new format as they prepare for the upcoming examinations.
