The school playground was a vibrant scene of color, coordination, and camaraderie, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and holistic growth.

The event began with a grand spectacle as students from the East Block led a disciplined march past to the venue, demonstrating teamwork and precision. The Chief Guest, Major General Rajesh Kundra (Retd), received the ceremonial Guard of Honour and inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and hoisting the sports flag. Balloons soared into the sky, marking the official start of the day’s activities and symbolizing new beginnings.

Major General Kundra, known for his inspiring presence, shared riveting stories from his Army career, urging the students to act with courage, integrity, and a sense of service to society. He encouraged them to dream big and emulate the heroic deeds of Wing Commander Abhinandan, reminding them that bold actions and a steadfast spirit pave the way for success.

The event was further enriched by thought-provoking speeches from distinguished guests. Senior Professor Rajesh Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Osmania University, highlighted the importance of inclusiveness and helping others, while Dr. I. Ramachandra Reddy, former Principal and Director of CBIT, spoke passionately about integrity and the pursuit of excellence.

The day was filled with thrilling competitions and exhibitions. The Grade X students competed fiercely in the 100m finals, vying for the prestigious PT Usha Trophy (girls) and Milkha Singh Trophy (boys). Adding a touch of excitement, a friendly basketball exhibition match demonstrated the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship, with Programme Manager Michael’s lively commentary keeping the audience on their toes.

Cultural performances added a festive flair to the celebrations. CBSE students delivered a powerful dance performance to “Namo Namo Namo Shankara,” while SSC students displayed grace and discipline in a yoga presentation. Karate performances showcased the students’ skill and focus, and a grand medley captivated the audience with its artistry.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of excellence. Students were awarded for their achievements in sports and academics, with accolades for Best Athlete (Boys & Girls), Best Group, students with 100% attendance, and winners across various disciplines.

As the day drew to a close, Principal Ms. Prarthana addressed the gathering, reflecting on the school’s unwavering commitment to quality education and holistic development. Quoting Willa A. Foster’s words, “Quality is never a compromise,” she emphasized how Oxford Grammar High School continues to stand as a beacon of high purpose, sincere effort, and wise direction.
