Telangana High Court Extends Interim Bail for K.T. Rama Rao
Hyderabad: In a significant development in the Formula E-Car race case, the Telangana High Court has extended the interim bail granted to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) for an additional day. On Friday, the court heard KTR’s quash petition related to the case.
Earlier, the High Court had directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) not to arrest KTR until December 30 following a petition filed by KTR on December 21. The hearing, initially scheduled for December 21, was postponed to December 27. During today’s proceedings, the court extended KTR’s protection from arrest until December 31.
Meanwhile, the ACB filed a counter-petition in the High Court, requesting the withdrawal of KTR’s interim bail. The ACB argued that granting bail or any relief to KTR at this stage could impede the ongoing investigation. The ACB also sought permission to question KTR as part of the probe.
Taking into account the ACB’s arguments, the court has deferred the matter to December 31 for further hearing.
