Hyderabad, Telangana: BJP MP Raghunandan Rao on Sunday sharply criticized BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha for her comments accusing the BJP of targeting those who question the central government. Addressing her claims, Rao questioned the relevance of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in cases like those involving K.T. Rama Rao (KTR).
“Police take action against individuals who commit wrongdoings and present them before the court. What does the central government have to do with this?” Rao remarked.
Raghunandan Rao dismissed Kavitha’s accusations as baseless and asserted that if the BJP wanted to intimidate opposition leaders, they would have targeted Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) first. Taking a jibe at BRS leaders, Rao likened them to “dead snakes,” alleging that they sporadically make statements to remain politically relevant.
He further noted that his response to Kavitha was restrained due to her being a woman, saying, “Otherwise, my reply would have been much harsher.”
Rao cautioned BRS leaders against overestimating their political standing, stating, “The people of Telangana have already rejected you once. If you continue to repeat your mistakes, they will do so again.” He concluded by describing the BRS as a “misfortune for Telangana.”
