Hyderabad’s Chikkadpally police have issued show-cause notices to the management of Sandhya Theater at RTC Cross Roads following a tragic stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2, which claimed the life of a woman named Revathi. The incident led to members of the theater management being named as accused in the case.

In response, the management, through their legal representatives, submitted a detailed six-page letter to the police. The letter emphasized that the theater has been operating for 45 years with all required permits and had never experienced such incidents before.

Highlighting the measures in place, the management stated that 80 staff members were on duty during the premiere on December 4, which was organized by Pushpa 2 producers Mythri Movie Makers. They noted that similar events in the past, including visits by actors from other films, had occurred without any issues.

The theater’s response also pointed out its dedicated parking facilities for visitors and reiterated its commitment to maintaining safety. The management expressed their deep concern over the unfortunate incident while underlining their preparedness during the event.

The Chikkadpally police are reviewing the submission as part of the ongoing investigation.
