Vijay Deverakonda Embarks on a Period Action Drama Set in the British Era
Vijay Deverakonda, known for his versatility in family dramas, love stories, and sports narratives, is now venturing into uncharted territory with a period action drama. The actor, who has been seeking a significant box-office hit since Geetha Govindam, is exploring unique and diverse scripts to break away from conventional storytelling.
This ambitious project, directed by Taxiwaala fame Rahul Sankrityan, is set against the backdrop of the British era, spanning the years 1854 to 1878. Based on real historical events, the film is said to delve into aspects of history that have never been portrayed on screen.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the prestigious banner of Mythri Movie Makers, the film is currently under development with the working title VD 14. A grand set is being specially constructed to bring this historical narrative to life, with the production team officially launching the set work on Republic Day.
Before this, Vijay Deverakonda has been collaborating with Jersey fame director Gowtam Tinnanuri on a film set to release this summer. The actor’s lineup reflects his dedication to delivering fresh, impactful narratives to his audience.
