
Amgen Launches Innovation and Technology Hub in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Feb 24, 2025: Amgen, the largest biotechnology company in the United States, has launched its new technology and innovation site in Hyderabad, reinforcing its commitment to expanding operations in India’s growing biopharma sector.
The Amgen Innovation Site, located near Hitech City, was inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. The event witnessed the presence of Amgen Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Bradway, US Consul General Jennifer Larson, Amgen India Representative Som Chattopadhyay, and Amgen India Managing Director Naveen Gullapalli.
As part of this expansion, Amgen will invest $200 million (approximately ₹1,600 crore) by 2025, with plans for further investments in the coming years. This initiative is expected to create significant job opportunities in the biopharma sector, boosting employment and industry growth in Telangana.
The new innovation site is equipped with cutting-edge digital capabilities, integrating artificial intelligence and data science to drive advancements in biotechnology. It will play a crucial role in Amgen’s global operations, supporting research, development, and innovation in the field of medicine.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed Amgen’s investment, highlighting Hyderabad’s emergence as a global hub for biotechnology and pharmaceutical research. He assured the state government’s support in facilitating the company’s growth and fostering innovation in the sector.
Amgen’s expansion in Telangana marks a significant milestone in India’s biopharma landscape, further cementing Hyderabad’s reputation as a preferred destination for global life sciences and healthcare companies.
