
Andhra Pradesh Allocates ₹48,340 Crore for Agriculture in 2025-26 Budget
Amaravati, February 28, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu presented the agriculture budget for 2025-26 in the state assembly, highlighting the government’s commitment to natural farming and agricultural growth in line with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of “Swarnandhra” (Golden Andhra).

Key Highlights of the Agriculture Budget:
- Total Budget Allocation: ₹48,340 crore
- Growth Rate: Agriculture sector recorded 22.86% growth
- Focus Areas: Natural farming, paddy cultivation, modern technology adoption
Major Allocations & Initiatives:
- Seed Subsidy: ₹240 crore allocated for subsidized seeds
- Pending Dues Cleared: ₹120 crore in unpaid seed subsidies from the previous government cleared
- Fertilizer Supply: 35.8 lakh metric tonnes supplied, with ₹40 crore allocated for fertilizer management
- Natural Farming Promotion: ₹61 crore earmarked
- Agricultural Mechanization: ₹139 crore for machinery subsidies, ₹80 crore for drone subsidies
- Kisan Drone Centers: 875 Kisan Drone Agricultural Mechanization Centers established
- PM Kisan & Annadata Sukhibhava Schemes: ₹9,400 crore allocated
- Free Crop Insurance: ₹1,023 crore set aside

Other Key Sectoral Allocations:
- Horticulture Department: ₹930 crore
- Cooperation Department: ₹239 crore
- Price Stabilization Fund: ₹300 crore
- Sericulture Development: ₹92 crore
- Buffer Stock for Fertilizers: ₹40 crore for maintaining 2 lakh tonnes
- Animal Husbandry: ₹1,112 crore
- Free Agricultural Electricity: ₹12,773 crore
- Fisheries Sector: ₹540 crore
- NTR Jalasiri Scheme: ₹50 crore
Minister Atchannaidu emphasized that these measures will boost agricultural productivity, promote self-sufficiency, and support farmers across the state. The budget reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable farming, modern technology, and rural development.
