
Massive Explosion at Sigachi Chemical Factory in Pashamilaram; 20 Workers Seriously Injured
Sangareddy, June 30, 2025 — A major explosion rocked the Sigachi Chemical Factory located in the Pashamilaram Industrial Area of Sangareddy district on Monday morning, leaving at least 20 workers seriously injured. The blast, which reportedly occurred due to the sudden explosion of a chemical reactor, triggered a massive fire that engulfed parts of the factory, creating panic in the surrounding areas.
According to eyewitnesses, the intensity of the blast was so severe that several workers were thrown nearly 100 meters from the site. “There was a deafening sound followed by thick smoke and flames. People were screaming and running for safety. Some workers were thrown into the open due to the force of the explosion,” said a local resident who witnessed the incident.
Emergency services, including fire and rescue teams, rushed to the scene immediately after receiving alerts. Firefighters have been battling the blaze for several hours and are working tirelessly to bring the situation under control. The cause of the reactor explosion is still under investigation.

All 20 injured workers were shifted to nearby hospitals, and some are said to be in critical condition. Local officials and police teams are monitoring the situation closely. An official from the district administration stated that a detailed inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the explosion and assess whether safety protocols were in place and followed.
Panic and concern have spread among the families of workers and the local community, as this industrial area is densely packed with chemical and pharmaceutical units. Locals fear the possibility of toxic exposure or further explosions.
The state government is expected to issue a statement soon. Meanwhile, authorities have cordoned off the area, and disaster response teams have been kept on standby in case the situation escalates.
