Telangana Intermediate Exam Schedule for 2026
Exams from February 25 to March 18; Fee Hike of ₹30 Approved

Hyderabad, October 23, 2025 – The Telangana government has approved the schedule for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026, clearing the way for the annual exams to begin on February 25, 2026, and conclude on March 18, 2026. The examinations will be conducted by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE).

This year’s schedule marks a slightly earlier start compared to 2024, when the exams began on February 28. As per the approved plan, the exams will commence on a Wednesday, continuing the pattern observed over the last few years. The Board will follow the alternate-day format, conducting first-year examinations on one day and second-year exams on the next, ensuring an efficient and organized schedule for the lakhs of students appearing across the state.

📅 Practical Exams in January and February

The practical examinations for Ethics, Environmental Education, and English are scheduled for January 2026, while science stream practicals will be held in February 2026, just before the theory exams. Officials stated that this arrangement provides students adequate preparation time between the practical and theory exams.

💰 Exam Fee Hike of ₹30

In a related decision, the government has approved a nominal increase of ₹30 in examination fees for the 2026 session to meet rising operational costs. With this revision:

  • Humanities (Arts) students will pay ₹550, up from ₹520.
  • Science stream students will pay ₹780, up from ₹750.

The TSBIE is expected to announce the fee payment schedule within this week, allowing colleges and students to make timely arrangements.

Officials mentioned that earlier proposals suggested a hike of up to ₹100, but the government settled on ₹30 to ensure the increase remains reasonable and does not burden families. The Board has followed a gradual fee revision model — last year’s hike was ₹20 — to balance financial requirements and public affordability.

🧾 Verification of Student Records

To ensure a smooth examination process, the Board has instructed college principals to verify and correct student details in the nominal rolls by October 27, 2025. This verification process is vital to prevent errors in hall tickets and examination documents.

“Accuracy in student data has become a top priority,” a senior TSBIE official said. “We are committed to avoiding the administrative lapses that caused inconvenience in previous years.”

👩‍🎓 Over 9 Lakh Students to Appear

Every year, more than 9 lakh students from general and vocational streams take part in the Telangana Intermediate exams. The early announcement of the 2026 schedule is being seen as a welcome step, especially as previous years’ timelines were influenced by factors like the Lok Sabha elections and public holidays.

Educationists have appreciated the timely release of the schedule, noting that it allows better academic planning. “An early start to exams gives students more time for revision after their practicals, and helps teachers finish the syllabus on schedule,” said a senior lecturer from a Hyderabad junior college.

💻 Digital Reforms and Transparency

The TSBIE is also introducing enhanced digital measures to streamline the process. Students will be able to make online fee payments, receive real-time updates via the official website, and access digital hall tickets ahead of the examinations. These initiatives aim to ensure fair, transparent, and efficient conduct of the exams.

Students and parents are advised to regularly check the official TSBIE website — tsbie.cgg.gov.in — for the detailed subject-wise timetable, fee payment deadlines, and other updates.

With the government’s approval in place and preparations underway, the focus now shifts to ensuring that Telangana’s Intermediate examinations are conducted smoothly, offering a stress-free and transparent experience for lakhs of young aspirants across the state.
