
Perika Suresh Unanimously Elected Vice President of Telangana Olympic Association
Hyderabad, December 28:
Perika Suresh has been unanimously elected as Vice President of the Telangana Olympic Association (TOA), marking a significant development in the state’s sports administration. The decision was taken at the Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the association held on Sunday at the Hyderabad Boat Club.
The AGM was chaired by TOA President S.R. Premraj, and witnessed unanimous support from the General Body for strengthening the association through strategic co-option of experienced office-bearers.
As part of the proceedings, the General Body also unanimously elected the following members to co-opted positions:

- Suresh Kumar – Vice President
- Vijender Singh – Joint Secretary
- Surender Joseph – Executive Member

Speaking on the occasion, Perika Suresh said that the new team would work collectively to strengthen sports governance in Telangana, with a special focus on athlete welfare, infrastructure development, and grassroots talent identification. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the Olympic values and spirit, and to creating better opportunities for sportspersons to excel at national and international competitions.
TOA President S.R. Premraj congratulated the newly elected members and expressed confidence that their experience and dedication would contribute significantly to the growth of sports in the state. He emphasized the association’s ongoing efforts to improve coordination with affiliated sports bodies and enhance Telangana’s medal prospects in major sporting events.

General Secretary Baburao and Treasurer Shivshankar Tumkur were also present at the meeting and extended their congratulations, noting that the strengthened leadership would help the TOA move forward with renewed momentum and vision.
The AGM concluded with a resolve to intensify preparations for upcoming national championships and to work towards building a robust sports ecosystem across Telangana.
