The much-awaited trailer of Jailer 2, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has been released, offering fans a glimpse of an action-packed sequel filled with mystery, suspense and high-octane confrontations.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the film brings back Rajinikanth as the iconic Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Sharing the trailer on social media, the production house wrote, “Tiger Muthuvel Pandian is back, and the hunt is ON!”
The trailer opens with actor Suraj Venjaramoodu’s character interrogating a hostage about a mysterious person behind a series of developments. The hostage, however, warns that even he will not be able to find the man they are looking for.
As the investigation intensifies, several villains are shown trying to discover who is orchestrating the events. Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian eventually makes his stylish entry, revealing that he has deliberately gone off the radar.
In a surprising twist, Muthuvel Pandian is shown disguising himself as a driver while secretly investigating the chain of command among his enemies. The trailer also features sniper attacks and introduces intense confrontations involving S. J. Suryah and other key characters.
Another highlight is the exchange between Rajinikanth and Vidya Balan. When she asks him whether he wants tea or coffee, his refusal leads to a witty response, adding a touch of humour to the otherwise intense trailer.
The trailer also introduces the dangerous Kalpaks, who are portrayed as a major threat. When Muthuvel Pandian is warned about them, he responds with his trademark confidence. He later warns them that while their predecessors used traditional methods to spread fear, the current trend is to bring all enemies together and eliminate them in a single attack.
The trailer has further heightened expectations for the film, which promises a combination of Rajinikanth’s trademark style, Nelson Dilipkumar’s dark humour and elaborate action sequences.
The makers had earlier released a release-date announcement teaser featuring Vinayakan, who warned Jailer that a powerful network was waiting to take revenge. Rajinikanth’s stylish appearance in the teaser sparked considerable excitement among fans.
Jailer 2 is scheduled to release worldwide on October 15, 2026. The film has generated significant anticipation since its announcement, and the makers confirmed in April that shooting had been completed.
With Rajinikanth returning as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the sequel is expected to be one of the major theatrical releases of the year.
