The announcement also confirmed that advance bookings for Ramayana: Part 1 will open on Dussehra. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release across premium formats on November 5, 2026.

Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part epic bringing Indian mythology to the big screen on a grand scale.
The production combines Indian storytelling with advanced visual effects, with DNEG contributing its expertise in visual effects. The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman and acclaimed German composer Hans Zimmer.

The two films are planned for release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, allowing audiences across India to experience the epic in multiple languages.
The first instalment will also release in IMAX, offering audiences an enhanced big-screen experience. Sony Pictures will handle global distribution, while Dharma Productions will oversee distribution in the Hindi-speaking market.
