SINGAPORE, October 11, 2026: Red Bull’s Max Verstappen delivered a commanding performance to win the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, securing his first-ever victory at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Starting from pole position, the Dutch driver controlled the race and held off Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to claim his second consecutive Grand Prix victory of the season.

The victory capped an impressive weekend for Verstappen, who had also won Saturday’s sprint race and secured pole position for the main event. The four-time world champion maintained his pace under Singapore’s floodlights, overcoming an early challenge from Leclerc before establishing control of the race.

Leclerc Finishes Second, Antonelli Takes Third

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished second, while Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli secured third place to continue his strong championship campaign.

The result marked a significant milestone for Verstappen, who had previously been unable to win at the Singapore circuit despite his success at other Formula One venues.

Speaking after the race, Verstappen praised Red Bull’s performance and tyre strategy, saying the team had the pace when needed, particularly on the soft tyres. He described the previous two races as positive for the team.

Hamilton Drops to Sixth as McLaren Drivers Advance

Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, who started third on the grid, finished sixth after tyre wear affected his performance in the closing stages. McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri moved ahead of Hamilton to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.

Mercedes driver George Russell finished ninth after starting from 19th on the grid, while Antonelli’s podium finish strengthened his position at the top of the drivers’ championship standings.

Antonelli Strengthens Championship Lead

Antonelli extended his lead over teammate Russell to 102 points, putting him in a strong position ahead of the next round in Austin, Texas. Depending on the results, the Italian could mathematically clinch the championship at the United States Grand Prix.

Verstappen’s consecutive victories have provided fresh momentum for Red Bull as the 2026 season progresses. His Singapore triumph also ended his wait for a win at one of Formula One’s most challenging street circuits.
