₹1.10 lakh bonus for each eligible employee; amount to be credited on November 5

The Telangana government has announced a Diwali bonus of ₹419 crore for employees of the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). The bonus will be credited to employees’ bank accounts on November 5.

Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced the decision on Friday while extending advance Diwali greetings to Singareni employees. He directed the company management to release the Performance-Linked Reward Bonus (PLRB).

Around 38,000 employees are expected to benefit, with each eligible employee receiving ₹1,10,250. This marks the second major bonus for Singareni workers within a month.

Earlier, on October 13, the state government announced a 34% profit share as a Dasara gift, amounting to approximately ₹596 crore. Permanent employees received an average of ₹1,53,912 each, while contract workers were paid ₹5,500 each.

Following the Deputy Chief Minister’s directions, Singareni CMD Buddha Prakash Jyoti held discussions with personnel and finance officials and instructed them to complete arrangements for crediting the Diwali bonus by November 5.

The Diwali bonus will apply exclusively to employees covered under the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA), excluding executive and officer-level staff.

Employees who completed at least 190 working days in underground mines or 240 days in open-cast and surface operations during the previous financial year will qualify for the full bonus. Those with fewer working days will receive the amount on a pro-rata basis. However, a minimum of 30 working days is mandatory for eligibility.

With the two bonus payments, Singareni management is disbursing approximately ₹1,020 crore to its workforce. Eligible permanent employees are set to receive an average of nearly ₹2.65 lakh through the Dasara and Diwali benefits within a month.

SCCL CMD Buddha Prakash Jyoti advised employees to utilise the bonus for their families’ needs and save a portion wherever possible. He also urged them to work with renewed enthusiasm and achieve the production targets set for their respective mines and departments.
