
Hyderabad May 09: Former Chief Secretary of Telangana, Somesh Kumar, who retired from service in February, is likely to be appointed as the Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Somesh Kumar had earlier applied for voluntary retirement, which was accepted by the Andhra Pradesh government.
Somesh Kumar is a well-known bureaucrat who has worked in various positions during his career. He was shifted to the AP cadre as per the directions of the Telangana High Court while he was serving as the Chief Secretary of Telangana. However, his recent participation in the BRS public meeting in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and other important meetings conducted by the Chief Minister, is a clear indication of the trust he enjoys with the CM.
Somesh Kumar thanked the Chief Minister for appointing him as Chief Advisor during a visit to Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday. He expressed his gratitude and promised to work towards the development of Telangana with his vast experience and knowledge.
As Chief Advisor, Somesh Kumar is expected to provide advice to the Chief Minister on various matters related to the development of Telangana. His experience as a bureaucrat is expected to be invaluable in providing strategic inputs to the government.
