Mumbai, June 20 – IndiGo, the leading domestic budget airline in India, has made an unprecedented move in the country’s aviation history by deciding to acquire 500 planes. The airline has signed an agreement with Airbus to purchase narrow-body aircraft, surpassing the record set by Tata-owned Air India’s monumental order of 470 aircraft from Boeing.

IndiGo, currently operating 300 flights, has already placed an order for 480 planes, which are yet to be delivered. With the recent decision to acquire an additional 500 aircraft scheduled for delivery between 2030 and 2035, IndiGo’s total order volume for the upcoming decade reaches a staggering thousand aircraft. The latest order includes A320 Neo, A321 Neo, and A321 XLR aircraft models.
