Bhopal, June 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the opposition, accusing them of joining forces solely to avoid imprisonment. He claimed that each leader present at the recent meeting in Patna is facing corruption charges.
Addressing a public rally at Bhopal’s Motilal Nehru Stadium, Modi introduced a new term, “guarantee,” which he associated with “corruption and scams.”
“The opposition’s guarantee is corruption and scams. Every leader attending the meeting carries a guarantee of involvement in scams worth Rs. 20,000 crore, and the Congress itself is burdened with guarantees of scams worth several lakh crores. Some of them are out on bail and are sharing their experiences from jail,” Modi stated.
In response to a query from a BJP worker regarding the opposition’s meeting, Modi claimed, “They fear imprisonment, which is why they are attempting to mislead the people ahead of the elections.”
He asserted that if the opposition has a “guarantee of corruption,” he, in turn, has the “guarantee of sending all of them to jail.”
“Today, I am also guaranteeing the people of India that those involved in corruption will be imprisoned. Those who have deceived the poor and amassed enormous wealth for personal gain will face rigorous action from investigative agencies,” Modi declared.
During his visit to the United States, Modi mentioned the opposition’s Patna meeting for the first time. In Bhopal, he seized the opportunity to express his views on the matter.
