Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed strong condemnation on Thursday regarding the recent incident in Manipur, where two women were paraded naked. He described the incident as shameful and a matter of great distress for the entire nation, which has a population of 140 crore people.

In a statement to the media before the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, the Prime Minister stated, “My heart is filled with pain and anger, and the guilty will not be spared.”

Addressing the gravity of the situation, he affirmed that the incident is a disgrace to civil society, and the perpetrators will face severe consequences for their actions. He assured the nation that such an appalling act against the daughters of Manipur would never be forgiven.

Moreover, Prime Minister Modi directed all chief ministers to take strict measures to maintain law and order in their respective states and ensure the safety and security of women.

During the session, the Prime Minister also assured that people-friendly bills would be presented in the House. He appealed to all Members of Parliament (MPs) to collaborate constructively during discussions on these bills for the betterment of the nation.

As the nation grapples with the shocking incident in Manipur, the Prime Minister’s statement reaffirms the government’s commitment to upholding justice and protecting the dignity and safety of its citizens, especially women.
