Elon Musk’s X Platform Introduces Ads Revenue Program for Creators, Including India

In a bid to support content creators worldwide, including in India, Elon Musk’s platform, X (formerly known as Twitter Blue), has rolled out its highly anticipated ads revenue program. As part of this initiative, eligible creators are entitled to a revenue share, provided they meet certain criteria.

To qualify for the program, creators must be subscribed to X Blue, have accumulated at least 15 million impressions on their posts within the last three months, and boast a minimum of 500 followers. Once eligible creators set up their payout details, they can expect to receive a payment the week of July 31, if their payout amount exceeds the $50 minimum threshold.

“We want the process to be as simple as possible, so all eligible X Blue and Verified Organisations subscribers are entitled to revenue share as long as they meet the eligibility criteria and join,” stated the rebranded X platform.

The exact method used by X to determine the value of payouts is not specified in the support document about the program. However, creators will receive payouts as long as X deems they have generated more than $50 in revenue.

Eligible creators can independently set up Ads Revenue Sharing and Creator Subscriptions, but they will need a Stripe account for payouts. It’s important to note that while all eligible users are welcome to participate, any breach of the Ads Revenue Share Terms, including violations of Creator Monetization Standards and X Rules, may lead to exclusion from the program, as warned by the Musk company.

X also made it clear that the program’s terms are subject to change, and it reserves the right to modify or cancel the initiative at any time, citing business, financial, or legal reasons.

Earlier this month, Twitter, a subsidiary of X, launched its own ads revenue sharing program for creators, taking the first steps towards compensating some of its content creators.

This new ads revenue program by X is expected to provide content creators with additional opportunities for monetization and encourage the growth of engaging and diverse content on the platform. As the program unfolds, more creators are likely to explore this avenue to benefit from their content creation efforts.
