Hyderabad, August 03 – Minister of IT, Industries, and Municipal Department, K. Tarakarama Rao (KTR), assured the Deccan Journalists Housing Society (DJHS) of providing houses to journalists. He confirmed that this matter is currently under consideration by Chief Minister KCR.

During a meeting held at the Assembly, Minister KTR met with DJHS representatives, including President Bolloju Ravi, Vice President Maripala Srinivas, Directors Dega Kumar, Pratap Reddy, Danda Ramakrishna, Adviser Vikram Reddy, and Members Vemulapally Raju and Polampally Anjaneyu. The representatives presented a memorandum to Minister KTR, requesting house plots for journalists.

During the meeting, Minister KTR inquired about DJHS and learned that it is the first journalist housing society established in Telangana state. The representatives highlighted the state’s all-round development under Chief Minister KCR’s leadership and praised the government’s various welfare schemes and development programs for the people of Telangana, especially the poor and weaker sections. They acknowledged the government’s support to journalists during difficult times, including financial assistance during the Covid pandemic.

The DJHS representatives expressed their long-held dream of owning houses for journalists working in Hyderabad. They emphasized that Chief Minister KCR’s proactive approach has already resulted in house allotments to journalists in districts like Khammam, Rangareddy, Warangal, and others. As the capital of the state and a significant center for journalists, the representatives requested house plots for DJHS members working in Hyderabad.

In response to the request, Minister KTR assured the DJHS representatives that he will discuss the matter with Chief Minister KCR. The news of Minister KTR’s positive response to allot houses to journalists has brought joy to the entire journalist community in the state.

The assurance from Minister KTR signifies the government’s commitment to supporting journalists and recognizing their invaluable contributions to society. The DJHS members are hopeful that their dream of owning houses in Hyderabad will soon become a reality, further enhancing the welfare and well-being of journalists in Telangana.
