New Delhi, Aug 5: Elon Musk announced on Saturday that X Corp (Twitter) will only share ad revenue with creators who are subscribed to X Premium (Blue) membership. Musk clarified that those who are not X Premium subscribers will not receive any ad revenue share, and the money will be kept by the company. He emphasized that the programme is open to everyone, but only X Premium (Blue) subscribers will be eligible for payouts.
However, X Corp has encountered delays in paying verified creators as part of its ad revenue-sharing programme. The company cited the overwhelming popularity of its “Ads Revenue Sharing” initiative as the reason for the delay. The volume of sign-ups for revenue sharing exceeded their expectations, prompting the need for additional time to review everything for the next payout.
Initially announced by Musk in February, the ad revenue-sharing plan saw the platform making payments to some creators with Blue badges in the first round of payouts. Nevertheless, X Corp maintains the right to modify or cancel the programme at any time, whether due to business, financial, or legal considerations. The company has not provided a specific timeframe for the resumption of payments but assures all eligible accounts will be paid as soon as possible.
