Traffic Advisory for Independence Day Celebrations at Golconda Fort

Hyderabad, August 11, 2023:

In view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations at Rani Mahal Lawns, Golconda Fort, Hyderabad, the Traffic Department has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth traffic flow and parking arrangements on August 15, 2023, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions:

  1. The road from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be closed to general vehicular traffic from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM on August 15, 2023.
  2. The entry from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be reserved for holders of A (Gold), A (Pink), & B (Blue) car passes, who have been invited to the Independence Day Celebrations. This access will be available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
  3. Invitees with A (Gold), A (Pink), & B (Blue) car passes coming from Secunderabad, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank, and Mehdipatnam sides are advised to take the route via Rethi Bowli & Nanal Nagar Junctions. They should then proceed to Balika Bhavan, Langar House Flyover, Tippu Khan Bridge, Ramdevguda junction, and Makai Darwaza for alighting. Specific parking instructions are as follows:
  • A (Gold) car pass holders should park on the main road in front of the Fort’s main gate.
  • A (Pink) car pass holders should park at Golconda Bus Stop, 50 meters away from the Fort’s main gate.
  • B (Blue) car pass holders should park at the Football/Boys ground by taking a right turn near Golconda Bus Stop.
  • C (Green) car pass holders should take specific routes depending on their approach and park at Owaisi / GHMC Play Ground.
  • D (Red) car pass holders are to approach Golconda Fort via Shaikpet Nala and Tolichowki, and park inside Priyadarshini School.
  • General public (E, Black car pass holders) should follow designated routes and park at HUDA Park or Seven Tombs, depending on their approach.

Post-Celebration Exit Routes:
After the celebrations, vehicles of A (Gold), A (Pink), & B (Blue) car pass holders will exit through Makai Darwaza, Ramdevguda, and Langar House. Vehicles with C, D, and E car passes will have separate exit routes.

Cooperation and Identification:
All invitees are urged to prominently display their car passes on the left side of their vehicle windshields for easy identification. Cooperation with the Traffic Police is requested for efficient management.

Diversion Details:
Post-celebration, diversions will be in place to facilitate the smooth passage of invitees and the general public. These diversions will guide vehicles coming from various directions.

Appeal to Residents:
Residents of areas surrounding Golconda Fort are requested not to park vehicles on main roads leading to the Fort and to follow the provided signages for navigation.
