New Delhi, September 21: Amazon has introduced a new range of Echo smart speakers designed to offer more intuitive Alexa experiences. These devices leverage the power of AI to understand conversational phrases and respond appropriately.
At a recent fall hardware event, Amazon showcased several new offerings, including the next-generation Echo Show 8, an all-new Echo Hub, and the latest Echo Frames. The tech giant also partnered with eyewear manufacturer Safilo to merge Alexa’s capabilities with iconic Carrera designs.
Daniel Rausch, Vice President of Alexa and Fire TV, stated, “These new Echo devices give customers more ways to experience the world’s best personal AI—and the growing generative AI capabilities that will be coming to Alexa soon—at home and on the go.”
The upgraded Echo Show 8, for instance, boasts faster responses to smart home commands by processing common requests locally. It features a centered 13-megapixel camera for improved video calls and adapts on-screen content based on the user’s proximity to the device through Adaptive Content.
The Echo Show 8 is available in Glacier White and Charcoal, priced at $149.99, with shipping starting on October 25. A special Echo Show 8 Photos Edition, designed for photo enthusiasts, is available for $159.99 and includes a six-month PhotosPlus subscription.
Amazon’s Echo Hub, priced at $179.99, serves as a smart home control panel, simplifying the management of smart devices with its customizable dashboard and Adaptive Content feature.
The Echo Frames and Carrera Smart Glasses, starting at $269.99, offer hands-free access to Alexa, reimagined audio design, and various frame styles.
Additionally, Amazon unveiled enhancements to conversational voice search with generative AI, upgrades to the Fire TV Ambient Experience, and the powerful all-new Fire TV Stick 4K Max, which offers nearly 30% more power than its predecessor and supports Wi-Fi 6.
The company also introduced the all-new Fire TV Soundbar, designed to deliver immersive sound for TV shows, movies, and games.
