New Delhi, Oct 2 – Google has unveiled a new category of Chromebooks that promise double the performance, integrated Google apps, and robust AI capabilities. Priced starting at $399, the Chromebook Plus also boasts features like Google Photos Magic Eraser and Adobe Photoshop on the web to enhance user productivity.
Consumers in the United States can begin ordering the new Chromebook Plus laptops from major retailers starting October 8. In Canada and Europe, these laptops will be available for purchase from October 9.
John Maletis, Vice President of ChromeOS Product, Engineering, and UX, expressed, “We’ve spent a lot of time listening to laptop users and have worked closely with our partners at Acer, ASUS, HP, and Lenovo to build a guaranteed standard of performance that people can depend on to get what they need done. Today, we are announcing eight new Chromebook Plus laptops.”
All Chromebook Plus models come equipped with a Full HD IPS display, ensuring a full 1080p HD experience. Additionally, they feature a 1080p webcam with temporal noise reduction for smoother and more lifelike video calls.
Under the hood, these Chromebooks pack Intel Core i3 12th Gen or higher, or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or higher processors, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
Google is also extending some premium features from Google Meet to the Chromebook Plus, leveraging the enhanced camera, processor, and more to integrate AI capabilities directly into the ChromeOS on Chromebook Plus devices.
