Hyderabad-based CtrlS Datacenters Announces INR 16,600 Crore Investment Plan
CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, a leading data center provider in Asia, has unveiled an ambitious investment plan of $2 billion (approximately INR 16,600 crore) set to span the next six years. The Hyderabad-based company has outlined three core areas of focus to elevate its operations, reaffirm its dedication to the region, and consolidate its position as a leader in the industry.
As part of this expansive endeavor, CtrlS Datacenters is expected to hire over 1,000 professionals within the next six years. Presently, the company operates 12 data centers boasting a cumulative capacity of 234 MW, strategically distributed across seven key cities in India, namely Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Noida, Lucknow, and Patna.
In 2023, CtrlS Datacenters is set to inaugurate three new data centers, marking the early stages of its investment plan. This blueprint encompasses augmenting its capacity by approximately 350 MW across both new and existing hyperscale and edge data centers in India and select Southeast Asian markets.
CtrlS Datacenters Founder and Chairman, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, expressed the significance of keeping pace with market changes driven by the surging demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies. He emphasized the company’s commitment to pioneering sustainable practices, aiming not only to extend its presence in key markets but also to elevate the standards of the entire data center industry.
To align with these objectives, CtrlS Datacenters will direct its investments into key technologies and strategies, focusing on advanced cooling, power management, and overall infrastructure design within its new hyperscale data centers. Additionally, the company has set a target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
In pursuit of sustainable practices, CtrlS Datacenters will invest in 153-Megawatt Peak (MWp) solar projects across three different markets, collectively generating 2,50,000-Megawatt Hours (MWh) of energy annually. Notably, a 145 MWp solar project in Maharashtra will be wholly owned and operated by the company.
CtrlS Datacenters has further committed to expanding its renewable energy portfolio with additional 300 MWp projects by 2025, solidifying its position as a frontrunner in the data center industry’s evolution towards sustainability.
