Hyderabad, October 30:
In a significant operation, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of the Maheshwaram Zone, in collaboration with the Ghatkesar Police, Rachakonda, successfully dismantled an interstate drug trafficking network. One drug peddler has been apprehended, and a massive seizure of 710 kilograms of Ganja and a TATA Container vehicle, valued at Rs. 2,25,50,000, was made.
The incident falls under Crime Number 732/2023, as per Section 8 (c) read with Section 20 (b) (II) (C) of the NDPS Act at Ghatkesar Police Station.

Brief Facts:
Subash Bishnoi, a native of Rajasthan State, turned to drug trafficking due to financial difficulties. He was lured into the trade by a fellow drug peddler from Rajasthan, who promised him Rs. 60,000 per consignment for transporting Ganja from Odisha to Hyderabad and Maharashtra. Subash Bishnoi successfully delivered one consignment of approximately 500 kilograms of Ganja earlier.
On October 24, 2023, acting on instructions from the drug peddler, he collected 710 kilograms of Ganja from Odisha and concealed it in a specially modified truck. Subash Bishnoi was intercepted on October 29, 2023, at the Aushapur check post by the SOT Maheshwaram Zone and Ghatkesar Police. The accused, along with the contraband Ganja, was apprehended, and the seized property was documented under a panchanama.
The investigation into the causes and operations of this drug syndicate is ongoing.
