In a joint operation, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of the LB Nagar Zone, along with Meerpet Police, successfully dismantled an interstate drug trafficking network involved in transporting and selling contraband drugs from Rajasthan to Hyderabad. The operation led to the arrest of three interstate drug peddlers and one consumer.
The case has been registered as Crime Number 1489/2022, under Section 8 (c) read with Section 20 (b) (II) (c) of the NDPS Act at Meerpet Police Station, Rachakonda.

The seized Heroin has an estimated international market value of about 50 lakhs.

Brief Facts:
The accused, Bhanwar Lal, and two juveniles in conflict with the law are originally from Sanchore district in Rajasthan State. They began as consumers but later turned to procuring and supplying drugs to meet the growing demand, thus generating income through illicit means. They established contact with a Heroin drug supplier from Rajasthan and began procuring and selling Heroin to drug-addicted individuals.
On October 29, 2023, acting on a tip-off, the SOT LB Nagar team, in collaboration with Meerpet Police, conducted a raid in NBR Colony, Meerpet, leading to the apprehension of the accused persons and the seizure of 80 grams of Heroin, a motorcycle, and four mobile phones. Efforts are ongoing to locate the primary source, who remains at large.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Shri D S Chauhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and guided by K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar-Maheshwaram, by the SOT LB Nagar Zone Team and Meerpet Police.
