New Delhi, November 6: An exclusive CVoter opinion poll conducted for ABP News has shown that projecting a clear winner for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections is a challenging task at the moment.

The most remarkable revelation from the survey in Telangana is the resurgence of the Congress party, following a significant electoral setback in the 2018 Assembly elections.

According to the survey, the Congress party’s vote share is projected to rise from 28.3% in 2018 to 39.4% in the current elections.

The vote share of the ruling party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) (formerly the TRS), is projected to decrease from 46.9% in 2018 to 40.6% in the current elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to come a distant third with a vote share of 14.3%. While this is more than double the vote share it received in 2018, it remains below the threshold for winning a significant number of seats.

Other major parties, including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), YSR Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI), and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), which had some influence in the 2014 and 2018 elections, have been marginalized, with the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) expected to retain its vote share in certain areas of the capital, Hyderabad.

According to the survey, the BRS is projected to win between 49 and 61 seats in Telangana, with the majority threshold in the 119-seat house being 60. In 2018, the BRS had secured 88 seats on its own.

The resurgence of the Congress party is evident from the projected range of seats, which falls between 43 and 55. In the 2018 elections, the party had won 19 seats.

The BJP is projected to come in a distant third, with a seat range between 5 and 11.

The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled for November 30, according to the Election Commission, with more than three weeks of campaigning remaining.

The CVoter survey interviewed 9,631 registered voters across the state, with a margin of error of 3%.
